Robert S. Powell, Jr., Managing Director.
Bob Powell has more than 20 years experience in the development
and finance of real estate. Prior to founding the firm in 1996 he
served as President and CEO of DKM Properties Corp., one of the
largest real estate development organizations in New Jersey, with
a portfolio of approximately 6 million square feet of space. While
at DKM, Mr. Powell directed the development, financing, and leasing
of office parks, retail shopping centers, and master-planned industrial
parks throughout the Northeast. Mr. Powell was instrumental in raising
approximately $500 million in debt and equity capital for the firm's
real estate portfolio. Mr. Powell continues to be actively involved
as an investor and developer of real estate projects in the New
York-New Jersey markets. Prior to joining DKM in 1984, Mr. Powell
served as the Executive Director of the New Jersey Economic Development
Authority, the public real estate investment bank for the State
of New Jersey. Under his leadership, the EDA completed several billion
dollars in incentive financing for business and industry throughout
the state. Mr. Powell has an undergraduate degree from the University
of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a masters and Ph.D. degrees
in economics and public policy from Princeton University.
Ian J. Mount, Senior Associate
Ian Mount has more than 10 years of experience in the management and finance of public and private real estate developments. Prior to joining Nassau Capital Advisors, LLC, Ian served as Director of Development for the Hekemian Kasparian Troast Group, Paramus, NJ, and as Project Manager for Nassau HKT Urban Renewal Associates, LLC. In this latter assignment, Ian oversaw all aspects of the design, construction and financing of the Downtown Princeton Redevelopment Project in Princeton, NJ undertaken in partnership with the Borough of Princeton. His previous experience includes financial analysis and advisory services for a broad range of real estate clients. Mr. Mount has an undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University and an MBA degree in Finance from American University in Washington, DC.
Michael C. Schonberger, Senior Associate
Mike Schonberger has 15 years of experience in the mortgage banking
industry where he has completed over 50 project financings involving
debt and equity in excess of $500 million. Prior to joining Nassau
Capital Advisors, Mike served as Senior Director with Ackman-Ziff
Real Estate Group in New York City. His previous professional experience
also includes senior management positions with Dorman & Wilson
(now Legg-Mason Real Estate Services), Larson Financial Resources,
and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. Mr. Schonberger has
extensive experience negotiating workouts as both principal and
agent. He is an Adjunct Professor of Real Estate Finance at Rutgers
University in New Brunswick, NJ and a contributing author to the
Real Estate Finance Journal. Mr. Schonberger holds a B.A degree
from Pace University, an MBA in Finance from New York University,
and JD degree from the Rutgers University Law School. He is a member
of the New Jersey Bar, holds real estate licenses in New York and
New Jersey.
John C. Biggins, Senior Associate
Jay Biggins brings more than 15 years of experience in managing
large-scale economic development initiatives in both the public and
private sectors, and in advising corporate clients on economic development
incentives. Mr. Biggins served in New York City as Executive Director
of Economic Development in the administration of Mayor Ed Koch.
Mr. Biggins also brings extensive experience in the private sector
managing the development and financing of large-scale mixed use
projects. He served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial
Officer of DKM Properties Corp., the real estate development subsidiary
of the Dyson-Kissner-Moran Corporation. Mr. Biggins is a graduate
of Rutgers University and received a JD from Rutgers Law School.
